Everyone was a winner at this friendly competition. L'Anse Creuse Public Schools organized the Coaches vs. Cancer all-day basketball charity event between rival L’Anse Creuse High School vs. L’Anse Creuse High School North schools’ freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity girls and boys teams.
The Dec. 11 game ended up raising $6,667.49, which will be presented to the American Cancer Society before the L’Anse Creuse High School vs. L’Anse Creuse High School North boys varsity basketball game at 7 p.m. Jan. 31.
Better yet, the fundraiser topped 2009's effort.
“This is an increase of $1,142.49 over last year’s event,” said Kim Rawski, athletic director at L’Anse Creuse High School-North.
