1 Dead, 3 Macomb Co. Residents Injured in Bruce Twp. Crash
A 21-year-old Bruce Township man was killed, and three other young adults were injured in a single-car crash early Tuesday morning.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal crash in Bruce Township that occurred just after midnight Tuesday, and left a 21-year-old Bruce Township man dead and three Macomb County residents injured.
Investigators said a 1999 Jeep Cherokee traveling northbound on Hipp Road, just north of 36 Mile Road, left the roadway and struck a tree head-on.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and alcohol may be a factor, according to a statement released by the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department.
There were four people inside the vehicle. The front seat passenger, identified as Alexander Gentry, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 25-year-old male and the driver side passenger, a 25-year-old female, both from Washington Township, were transported to Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The second rear-seat passenger, a 21-year-old Macomb Township female, was transported to Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center and then transferred to Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Investigators said airbags were deployed, but it’s unknown if all the occupants were wearing seat belts.

So tragic and unnecessary. Young people today seem to think they're invincible. The "nothing can happen to me" syndrome. Well, unfortunately something can happen to you, so please all you teens and twenty-somethings, give it some serious thought.

Even "old" people need to realize that if you drink, you should not drive. Alcohol combined with loud music and cellphone use is a recipe for disaster!

Nothing said about drinking, you assume drinking was involved.

It did say alcohol may be a factor.

The keynote here is "may" be a factor. I don't believe that alcohol was definitely established.

This was an unfortunate accident that took the life of my son. The driver and the other male passenger were released from the hospital by the 24th and the third passenger is scheduled to be released late next week.
Thanks to all for prayers and support for all involved.

My heart is with you through the holiday season and beyond. Is the driver being charged in this accident? So,so sad for everyone involved and their loved ones.

Thanks Denise. Although we are not the first, nor will we be the last to have to endure such pain, it's bitter-sweet. So much to do, keeping busy, family and friends sharing love, support and memories...and utter emptiness. Thank you for your prayers for they hold us up.
