5 Signs of Spring in Chesterfield Township, New Baltimore

New Baltimore-Chesterfield Township Patch counts down the days to spring.

 

Chesterfield Township and New Baltimore residents can start looking out for local characteristics of the spring season. Patch rounds up some sure signs of spring:

'Finest' frozen treats in town

World's Finest Frozen Custard, complete with mini golf and play areas, opens March 20 off 23 Mile in Chesterfield Township, according to its Facebook page. The seasonal stand is a popular, family-friendly hangout. Meanwhile, Dairy Queen in New Baltimore, which is also open in the warmer months, is already welcoming ice cream lovers.

Fresh produce at Farmers' Market

The annual New Baltimore Farmers Market next to the city's recreation center on Washington Street will hold its first-ever Spring Farmers Market May 19 with live music and activities, as well as plants, flowers, food and artisans. The regular season starts July 14 and will be held every Sunday through Oct. 13. For more information, visit its website.

Flowers bloom across town

Local nurseries Meldrum Brothers and Van Thomme's Greenhouses will showcase spring plants, shrubs and more while big retailers like Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards and more offer sweet-smelling flowers.

Dining al fresco

Outdoor eating becomes an option with warmer weather at places like Louie's Chophouse, Little Camille's By the Bay, Bad Brad's BBQ and Panera Bread. See our directory for more dining options in the community.
