Chesterfield and New Baltimore claims all kinds of establishments from family-friendly to fine dining. Entertainment and Recreation
Local bands frequently play at establishments around town, including New York New York, Hamlin Pub and Sugarbush Tavern. For more indoor fun, there's Premiere Lanes bowling alley and Chesterfield Crossing Cinemas movie theater. There are also options for boaters and golfers and even would-be golfers who enjoy putt-putt.
Walter and Mary Burke Park in downtown New Baltimore and Brandenburg Park in Chesterfield provide scenic views of the water and playscapes for children.
Walter and Mary Burke Park is home to New Baltimore's popular beach, which has an extensive pier to stroll and enjoy the view of Anchor Bay.
Boating is a popular pastime, especially for those who want to take advantage of lakeside living. Fishing is a big draw around the area. Even the coldest weather cannot sway the die-hard angler. Ice shanties are seen on Lake St. Clair quite a bit in winter, although the fire officials don't recommend that. One local park, Maynard "Red" Aurand Memorial Park, is perfect for sledding on snow days.
Fitness
Staying active while visiting the area is simple if you know where to go. If a traditional gym setting is more your thing, you can stop by Powerhouse Gym to workout on machines or in a number of classes offered there. For the yogi within, Santosha Yoga will bring serenity and a slew of class options. There are also scores of programs at New Baltimore Recreation Center and Chesterfield Township Parks and Recreation and the township Senior Center. For more options, scroll through our directory. Buying Groceries, Goods Around Town
New Baltimore Farmers' Market is held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays off Washington Street in downtown New Baltimore. Grillo's International Market and Pasta e' Pasta carry authentic Italian foods while Kroger and Meijer have the communities covered for traditional grocery shopping. If some wine is needed to top off the right meal, you can buy vino at Washington Street Wine House in New Baltimore's historic downtown.

Museums
With a historic downtown, New Baltimore claims several old buildings with rich history. Grand Pacific House Museum is open to the public on select days during most months of the year. Visitors can see an array of displays, including antique furniture and mementos from the city's heyday as a resort town. One interesting tidbit: Curators believe the former hotel-turned-museum is haunted.
For the classic car lover, Stahl's Automotive Foundation in Chesterfield Township brings about 70 vintage cars and a Route 66 theme to the community. The museum opened in early June 2011.
The Chesterfield Historical Village on Municipal Grounds features a one-room school, a log cabin, a cobble/gift shop and a working blacksmith shop. The Chesterfield Township Historical Society hosts a variety of events at the village throughout the year. (Patch also features historical columns that inform readers of the township's rich history.)
Nearby Selfridge Air Museum in Harrison Township has an indoor museum building as well as an airpark with many planes, jets and other displays for guests to explore—even inside some of them. The airpark has 31 full-size vintage military aircraft from World War I to present day, plus an assortment of military vehicles and missiles.
Annual Community Events
Besides the summer Fishfly Festival, New Baltimore hosts a slew of community events annually. The Jingle Bell Run, Winterfest featuring the Polar Bear Plunge, Anchor Bay Triathlon and New Baltimore Memorial Day Parade are among them. Parks and Recreation as well as organizations throughout the area also hold a number of programs and events.
In Chesterfield Township, the annual Salute to Summer draws families to township grounds for activities and historical demonstrations. The North Gratiot Cruise has been canceled a couple of times in the past few years, but when it is held, it also is a big draw to the area.
Both communities hold tree-lighting ceremonies around Christmastime.
The American Cancer Society also has held Relay for Life events in New Baltimore and Chesterfield.
Lodging
While Chesterfield is home to multiple motels, travelers looking for more traditional hotel accommodations may want to look into Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, Best Western ConCord Inn in Clinton Township, Hyatt Place in Utica or other nearby suites.
