Armed Robbers Steal Rosie O'Grady's St. Patrick's Day Cash in Chesterfield Township

Police are asking the public's help in identifying two men responsible for the Tuesday crime.

Chesterfield Township police said they are searching for two men who robbed Rosie O'Grady's bookkeeper at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery inside office space at 30400 23 Mile Road in an area behind the popular bar. Officers surrounded the building before learning the thieves fled seconds before, according to township police.

The chief financial officer for the business told police he was doing the bookkeeping for the St. Patrick's Day weekend when the two unknown men entered his office, pointed a handgun at him and ordered him to the ground. They bound his hands and feet with duct tape and ransacked his desk area, finding a large undisclosed amount of cash, Detective Sgt. Deron Myers stated.

A female worker from one of the rear offices then interrupted them. They pointed the gun at her as she approached. She then escaped to the back of the building. The suspects fled on foot out of the front door with the cash in a black brief case, Myers said.

"We suspect there was a vehicle nearby," he said.

The CFO was able to free himself and call 911, police said.

Investigators are exploring how the men had knowledge of the bookkeeping that takes place in the office that is not attached to Rosie O'Grady's. They say the investigation is ongoing in this early stage.

The first suspect is described to be a white male in his mid-30s, average height and weight, wearing a dark ski mask, large frame glasses, black leather jacket and blue jeans. He was armed with a dark-colored handgun.

The second suspect is described to be a white male, weighing 300 pounds or more, wearing  a dark knit ski mask, gray-hooded sweatshirt and sweat pants with two white striped down the side. He also had a dark-colored handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chesterfield Police Department at 586-949-2322 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

I.M.O. I agree w/ KJD ^ It definitely was an inside job here! Duh! These kinds of crimes seem to be more & more prevalent in Chesterfield today! :( It doesn't surprise me though, because when my friend was raped behind the Kohl's Store, the so called Chesterfield Police Dept. said that she was lying!! WHAT!!!? In which she is STILL traumatized & struggling from it! :( Not to mention I was arrested by C.P.D. for buying a stolen car that I bought at a dealers auction @ the corrupt Richmond Auto Auction, but later I was released because they of course found out that I didn't do it, but they also didn't feel like pursuing the real culprits afterwards though either! :( However I now have a record & I'm still out of money I spent for the car! :( I.M.O. Chesterfield's image has diminished since the County voted to allow public buses in the area, and when I pass through Chesterfield now in the day time, I see some what of lower class people who enter and exit @ the bus stop next to the infamous Chesterfield Motor Inn/Georgetown Apts. where they usually dwell at! :( where It seems to be a breeding area for criminals today! :( It doesn't surprise me though, because of the growing community & the small C.P.D. & their incompetence! :( Even w/ the obvious evidence that they have, they still in my own opinion, won't solve this case! :( It's good to see that Det. Kiersten isn't on the case though! lol! We will have to see I guess, I'm just not going to get my hopes up again this time...:(

Female worker interrupts the robbery, but CFO has to free himself and call 911 himself? And they didn't stay on line with 911 to inform the robbers already escaped, so the police surrounded the building? Lots of holes in the story, if you ask me.
