Border Patrol Searches for Four Individuals in New Baltimore Area

Border patrol says there is "no danger to the public" as the agency continues its search for at least four people who fled border patrol officers Thursday morning in New Baltimore.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection continues its search for at least four individuals who fled agents Thursday morning in the New Baltimore area.

Though the search continues, the border patrol said there is “no danger to the public,” according to a press release.

The individuals fled from a van pulled over on the side of the road at around 8 a.m. Thursday after they saw border patrol agents patrolling the area, according to the release.

Border patrol agents and local law enforcement agencies assisted in the search, including border patrol K-9 units and air support from the Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine.

A helicopter could be seen hovering over the area between Washington and Ashley streets in New Baltimore.
