The Avengers opens with a lot of hype, and it opens locally Friday at 12:01 a.m. at Chesterfield Crossing Cinema 16.
The superhero movie based on the hit comic book stars Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson. It opens the summer movie season, and it opens just a day before Free Comic Book Day.
The Avengers generally has received good reviews, including a three-star review from Roger Ebert.
