Local drivers were finding relief at the pump early this week, with prices as low as $3.18 in the Chesterfield Township area, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average price of around $3.26 Monday was lower than the previous week of approximately $3.28 and down from last month's $3.41. The average gas price was higher last year at this time, hovering around $3.49 in Metro Detroit, the site reports.

According to GasBuddy.com, the lowest prices Monday in the Chesterfield Township and New Baltimore area were:

• $3.18 at Speedy Q, 37750 26 Mile near County Line Road.
• $3.18 at Meijer, 36865 26 Mile Road near Frost Road.
• $3.19 at Exxon, 46963 Gratiot Ave and 21 Mile Road.
• $3.19 at Speedway, 26115 21 Mile and Brandenburg Dr.
