Chesterfield Township Approves Splash Park at Brandenburg

Residents need only to wait 10 weeks before a splash park is finished.

Chesterfield Board of Trustees approved a splash park that will be built in Brandenburg Park during its regularly scheduled Monday night meeting.

Township supervisor Michael Lovelock said several other nearby communities have splash parks, but the planned park in Chesterfield could be much larger.

“It's going to be probably one of the biggest splash parks in Macomb County when it gets done,” he said.

He added that a splash park is a viable alternative to a pool and that this park will be funded through a donation by the Webber Family Foundation. The park should be finished in 10 weeks, Lovelock said.

In addition to the park, the trustees also approved $3,819 worth maintenance to be conducted on voting machines by Election Systems & Software and a $35,222 year-long contract with HI Tech to allow for 24/7 troubleshooting concerning the township's computers.

Chesterfield Fire Chief Doug Charbonneau attended the meeting to speak on behalf of a proposal to raise his pay, but the agreement was not even put to a vote.

Bagger Dave's Legendary Burger Tavern and The Fillin' Station Bar & Grill received approval for a Class C Liquor License and an entertainment permit, respectively.
