Construction to Affect I-94 Ramps in Chesterfield Township Over Weekend

Detours will be posted as the I-94 westbound entrance and exit ramps in Chesterfield Township will be closed over the weekend.

Drivers can expect ramp closures this weekend on Interstate 94 in Chesterfield Township, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced Thursday.

The entrance ramp from 23 Mile to westbound I-94 and the westbound I-94 exit ramp to 23 Mile will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. Detours using M-19 (New Haven Road) and 26 Mile will be posted, according to MDOT.

Construction on the freeway began in spring as part of a $19.5-million initiative to resurface more than five miles between 23 Mile and County Line roads and make safety upgrades to the eastbound I-94 exit and entrance ramps at 23 Mile.
