Crime Blotter: Man Pretending to Shoot People in Library Banned for Unruly Behavior
The following information was supplied by Chesterfield Township police. If any arrest information applies, it does not indicate convictions.
Library user causes ruckus
A 26-year-old Chesterfield Township man was banned from the township library late last month after he repeatedly threatened employees, cursed, hollered and made shooting motions at individuals, according to police.
The man had been in the library on Patricia Avenue for four consecutive days, causing problems each time. When told he needed to follow the library rules, he responded that he did not need to follow the rules because "he was the police himself," the May 21 police report stated.
Chesterfield Township police responded to the complaint about the man's behavior. When the officer arrived to the library, the suspect had left by bicycle. Identifying the man by his library card, police went to his home and informed him that he was banned from the library and would be charged with trespassing if he returned, police said.
The man told police he understood he could not go back to the library.
Party-goers do donuts, rev engines in field
A series of late-night parties drew complaints that attendees were taking to a nearby field to rev engines and do donuts, according to late May police reports.
The shindigs took place in the early morning hours, from 1 a.m. to approximately 3 a.m., on May 8, 19 and 20 in the 24 Mile and Chesterfield Road area. Police received complaints that people were disturbing the peace by yelling and doing donuts, according to police.
When police addressed the party host, the activity stopped and the group went inside.
Bench snatched from porch
A homeowner reported May 22 that someone stole a cast-iron bench from his porch on Prince Drive between Hall and 21 Mile roads, according to a police report.
The bench was snatched between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. that day. There were no suspects at the time, police said.
