Funeral Services Set for Anchor Bay Student

Visitation and funeral services for 11-year-old Kyle Halcomb of Casco Township will take place this week in New Baltimore.

 

A funeral for 11-year-old Kyle Halcomb of Casco Township is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Gendernalik Funeral Home in New Baltimore.

Visitation is schedule from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, according to its website.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kyle Halcomb Memorial Fund at Bank of America.

Kyle passed away Sunday evening after being in critical condition for two days at Children's Hospital in Detroit. He was badly injured in a car accident Friday morning at 26 Mile and County Line in Chesterfield Township.

Classmates honored the Anchor Bay Middle School North sixth-grader this week by decorating his locker in his memory, according to New Baltimore police who had a presence at the school to support grief counselors and answer questions from students.

Crisis teams were also at Maconce Elementary following news of the tragedy. Kyle's two older siblings, ages 12 and 13, attend the middle school and two younger siblings, ages 8 and 10, attend the elementary school. They were also in the minivan driven by their mother when the accident took place and suffered non life-threatening injuries, Chesterfield Township police said.

Anchor Bay School District officials said the entire district is mourning the loss and their thoughts and prayers are with Kyle's family.

I went to school with Kyle he was a great person and will always be remembered Kyle I miss u but your in a better place
