2OTH ANNUAL ARTPARTY
Where/When: Anton Art Center, 125 Macomb Place, Mount Clemens; 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 22.
Why Go: The Anton Art Center holds its annual ArtParty, with a Mardi Gras theme. Enjoy the works of art as you sip cocktails and sample the wares from more than 30 area restaurants and caterers. A live auction will be held, where guests can bid on items such as a one-week getaway and a dinner party for eight. A silent auction and raffle drawings are also planned.
Pricing: $50 in advance; $60 at the door.
BOATING & OUTDOOR FESTIVAL
Where/When: Metro Beach Metropark, Sept. 22-25.
Why Go: This festival is chock-full of fun for the whole family. Boats and watercraft will be on display, for browsing and shopping. Vendors will offer information and do demonstrations. There's a Tiki Bar set up for guests to wet their whistles. Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer will make appearances, and Duma the waterskiing dog will wow the crowds. Face-painting fun, bounce houses and plenty of amusements await the young and young at heart.
Pricing: $9 admission for adults. Children under 12 get in free with adult. Metroparks admission is $5 for a daily vehicle pass, if you don't already have an annual one -- $25 for a year, or $15 for senior citizens.
FESTIVAL OF THE SENSES
Where/When: Clinton Township Civic Center, 40700 Romeo Plank, Clinton Township; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 24-25.
Why Go: Discover a lot about area history in a totally fun way, at the Festival of the Senses this weekend. Enjoy shopping, arts and crafts vendors, foods, dancers, games, magic acts, old-fashioned games, plus demonstrations of blacksmithing, candlemaking and more.
Pricing: Free.
NEW BALTIMORE HISTORY FAIR
Where/When: Walter and Mary Burke Park, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 24-25.
Why Go: History comes to life at the New Baltimore History Fair, with street vendors and artists selling their wares. There will also be food and entertainment, Civil War reenactments, bake sale, zucchini races, children's games, music and more.
Pricing: No admission will be charged.
MOM & SON DANCE
Where/When: Zuccaro Banquets & Catering, 3-6 p.m. Sept. 25.
Why Go: Chesterfield Parks & Recreation will hold a special mother-son dance, an afternoon complete with dancing, keepsakes, a professional photo souvenir and a buffet-style dinner.
