How to Make Green Bean Casserole for Thanksgiving
Recipes so easy, even a 5-year-old can do it.
Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and to help you get ready for the big meal, we'll be offering up a few standard turkey day recipes that are so easy, even a little kid (like my son Ethan, who is five years old in this video from last November) can do it.
Today's recipe: green bean casserole! The prep time is about 10 minutes, and it's a great, simple side dish that's sure to please the palates of your dinner guests – no matter their age.
The best part is that you can set it aside and warm it up at the last minute, which makes it perfect for the frazzled chef on Thanksgiving day.
Here's what you'll need:
- 2 (14.5 oz) cans of French-cut green beans
- 1 large container of French fried onions
- 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
Here's how you make it:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Drain the green beans and empty into a large bowl. Add the can of soup and a handful of the French fried onions and stir until mixed well.
Empty the mixture into a casserole dish or glass pan, spread the mixture evenly and top with the rest of the French fried onions.
Bake for 30-45 minutes. As Ethan says, "You know it's done when it's golden brown."
Enjoy!

Good Job Ethan! I was also impressed seeing him read the labels on the cans. Not many 5 year old's can do that. Well, maybe they do nowadays........I don't think I did at that age. =o\
