In Photos: Selfridge Air Show Takes to Skies

The annual air show drew aviation and military enthusiasts Saturday at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township.

With thousands of onlookers expected throughout the weekend, sunny skies gave way to the official kickoff Saturday of the in Harrison Township.

More than a dozen military-operated and old-time planes lined the grounds for attendees to explore during an open house while the air show drew a packed crowd that saw numerous aircraft soar overhead.

Weather conditions, including warnings of high wind and hail, prompted the early closure of the show Saturday at about 3:30 p.m. However, the show is scheduled to continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
