What position are you running for: Township Clerk

If elected, what specifically would you like to see done during your term?

  • Elimination of the administrative fee charged on winter tax bills.
  • Reduce the size, scope and cost of local government by 30%.
  • Development of a more favorable business environment.

What do you think the community's biggest challenges are and how can the community overcome them?

Increased foreclosures and a repressed business climate can be helped by reducing taxes and governmental regulations on residents and businesses.

How would you propose making the police and fire funds financially stable?

Align budgets with current revenue.

How would you make changes, if any, to community services?

Re-evaluate community services for necessity and efficiency.

I am a happily married mother of three who is a passionate advocate for limited government and the protection of our constitutional rights and liberties.

What are your hobbies/causes you're passionate about?

Protection of constitutional rights and liberties.

What’s one fact about you that would surprise people?

I am a descendant of Anne Bradstreet, the first published female author from America.

  • Studied political science and history at MSU and Wayne State with supplemental studies in campaigns and elections at Yale University Law School.
  • Member of the Chesterfield Township Board of Canvassers validating elections for the clerk’s office since 2000.

This is the only candidate that has a college background? I find that hard to believe.

I hope the new Clerk stops the past practice of using the power of the incumbency and taxpayers dollars to create name recognition by putting her name on letterhead, envelopes, and even voter ID cards.

I agree with you but I believe that a county requirement. Its to acknowledge the person responsible for elections. Really no choice in the matter.
