People looking to raise awareness in the fight against cancer rallied together over the weekend in Chesterfield Township for a cure.

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Chesterfield took place from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday at L'Anse Creuse Middle School East. The event came one week after the Relay for Life of New Baltimore at Anchor Bay Middle School North.

As the township event kicked off, New Baltimore-Chesterfield Patch asked participants what motivated them to relay. Their answers range from general support for the cause to fighting against a disease that personally affected them.
