The Macomb County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 57-year-old Royal Oak man in connection with the May 29 and June 22 robberies of a Best Bank in Washington Township.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham reported Sunday that detectives have identified the suspect in both robberies as Gary Allen Wagner of Royal Oak.

Detectives located and arrested Wagner in Mount Clemens on Sunday. He was given a $250,000 cash bond and is currently being held at the Macomb County Jail.

Wagner is suspected of robbing the Best Bank, located inside the Kroger at Van Dyke and 30 Mile Road in Washington Township, on two separate occasions.

While sheriff's detectives were unable to identify a suspect following the first robbery on May 29, a customer of the bank during the second robbery on June 22 was able to write down a license plate number that was later traced to Wagner, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation and anyone with information regarding the robberies is asked to call 586-469-5151.
