Seventh Bowler Helped Take Championship

Anchor Bay junior varsity bowler Alicia Marvinetz was called in to help the varsity team at state finals and did not disappoint.

bowling coach Karyn Mazei selected junior varsity bowler Alicia Marvinetz for her team’s state championship final. It made all the difference.

Marvinetz stepped up with the pressure on and had an outstanding performance for the Tars that day. She averaged 155 during the season and bowled 182 at the finals to help the varsity team clinch the . 

“She is quick learner and listens well,” Mazei said. “She is only a sophomore and I really look forward to working with her for the next two years. She has great potential and is on her way to becoming an amazing bowler.

  5. How did you feel after winning the state championship?
    I wasn’t surprised. I knew they could do it and I was really happy.
