Sheriff Recognizes Lifesaving Acts, Professional Excellence of Citizens, Deputies
More than 75 citizens and law enforcement officers were recipients of Macomb County Sheriff's Recognition Awards this week.
From the resident whose quick thinking saved the life of a neighbor to the deputy who went the extra mile to bring a drug dealer to justice, Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham recognized the actions of these individuals and more at the ninth annual Sheriff's Recognition Awards ceremony Wednesday in Macomb Township.
"We don't produce a product, we provide a service," Wickersham said. "We can't give out bonuses, but we can give out awards and recognize good deeds."
More than 75 citizens and law enforcement officers were recognized for their lifesaving actions and professional excellence over the past year, while five individuals were named employee of year, dispatcher of the year, corrections deputy of the year, deputy of the year and command officer of the year.
