I know—an away game.

That said, this is the Pick of the Week because I want you to check out the team now. Then, once the holidays are over, head out to the home ice rink and watch the team play a few more times. You won't regret it.

High school hockey is fabulous. The skill level is high and the competition is fierce.

The Tars lock horns with Ike in this contest and it will be, admittedly, a challenge for the upstart Anchor Bay squad.

"It's a crossover game for us," Anchor Bay coach Mel Rettell said. "They're in the Red. We're in the White. So, it's going to be a tough game. It's also the last game for us before the break. A win will set us up nicely for the second half of the season, which begins for us after the first of the year."

Look, Anchor Bay has a new coaching staff, some new faces on the ice, and that means it might take some time for this squad to click. But, with talent such as Tom Novak, Alex Fonstad and Wade Nicholson, it's bound to happen.

Plus, if you catch this game, and find your way to a few home games down the road, you'll be there to see this team blossom into a very good hockey club.
