Selfridge Personnel Honored by the Detroit Tigers

Selfridge Air National Guard personnel were honored this week by the Detroit Tigers during Fourth of July pre-game festivities at Comerica Park.

Selfridge Air National Guard personnel played a major role in Fourth of July pre-game festivities at Comerica Park.

  • Col. Philip Sheridan, the vice-commander of the 127th Wing, threw one of the ceremonial first pitches. 
  • Capt. Daniel Mercante, who recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan where he served as a pilot in the 107th fighter squadron, delivered the game ball to the mound.
  • Senior Master Sgt. Mark Kaufmann from the 127th Wing sang the national anthem before the game, and "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch.
