Visions for Vacancies: What Do You Want to Replace Kmart?

Patch asks readers to share their hopes for vacancies in Chesterfield and New Baltimore

A longtime Chesterfield Township retailer will soon close its doors, leaving another vacancy in the community.

Kmart customers are shopping at the Gratiot and 23 Mile store for the last time, getting large discounts before doors close in upcoming days.

With the retailer's impending departure, Patch asks readers to weigh in on their visions for the storefront. On our Facebook page, some suggestions given were Babies R Us and Costco.

Tell us in the comments section:

  • What you would like to move there?
  • And, what are your best memories of shopping at Kmart?

Hasn't there been plenty of vacancies that North Shore Church could have gone into by now?

A real bookstore would be great!!! The nearest one is across from Lakeside Mall. Meijer and Target selection not to great.
