Weekend Construction Continues on I-94 Between 23 Mile and County Line

If I-94 or Gratiot are in your weekend driving plans, keep in mind these areas will be under construction.

Drivers will find most of I-94 between 23 Mile and County Line roads under construction this weekend as crews continue ongoing resurfacing work.

The westbound I-94 exit ramp to 26 Mile Road is currently closed for reconstruction and will re-open Aug. 31. A detour will be posted.

Construction will also reduce eastbound and westbound I-94 to a single lane between 23 Mile and County Line roads from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Road work on northbound Gratiot Avenue will also force traffic to a single lane from Harrington Road to Welts Street from 9 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Monday.

In Macomb Township specifically, 24 Mile Road remains closed between Card Road and North Avenue for paving and water main work.

Scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 13:

Eastbound and westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane nightly between 23 Mile and County Line roads, starting at 7 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m. the following mornings beginning Monday night and ending Friday morning for ongoing road work.
