Wine Country on Washington Street

Sip vino during a complimentary tasting and stay to select a bottle of homemade wine from a New Baltimore wine house.

Kicking back in a comfy atmosphere to enjoy homemade wine is hardly a tall order. So, escape this week to New Baltimore's own little wine country within a Washington Street building for a complimentary tasting.

While you're at Washington Street Wine House, stay to enjoy the company of friends or loved ones and then browse through nearly 20 kinds of bottled red and white wines that are produced in-house.

A long bar and seating areas inside the cozy store, which formerly housed a market, is an ideal setting for some R & R. And, there's merchandise to explore, such as gift baskets, wine accessories and T-shirts.

If shopping isn't on your plate, test your palate with wine made from juices shipped from France, California, New Zealand and other places all over the world.

Owner Cyndie Busuttil of Algonac encourages rookie wine-tasters by saying the wine house is not pretentious.
