Sweet and Saucy Pork Tenderloin: Slow Cooker Recipe

When it's hot outside, the last thing we want to do is warm up our kitchen by turning on the oven!  This is when you become extremely thankful for your slow cooker!

This DELICIOUS pork tenderloin is extremely easy to put together and extremely flavorful!  My kids (15 months and 4 years) gobbled theirs up with absolutely no coaxing!  If that doesn't speak for something, then I don't know what would!  ;)

Chances are, some of you picked up a pork tenderloin last week at Meijer while they were on sale, and many of you also probably picked up a can of apple pie filling that was on sale last week too!  Most, if not all of you probably have Barbecue sauce in your refridgerator, so you're good to go!

You won't believe how easy this is!  This serves approximately 6 people)

Sweet and Saucy Pork Tenderloin

Ingredients:
1  4-5lb. Pork Tenderloin
1  21oz. can Apple Pie Filling
1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce (I used Sweet Baby Ray's)
salt and pepper

Directions:
Place your pork tenderloin in the bottom of your crock and sprinkle it with salt and pepper. Cover your tenderloin with the Apple Pie Filling and then pour the Barbecue Sauce on top of that.  Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or on HIGH for 3.5-4 hours.  Serve and Enjoy!

This looks great. I wonder about using apple sauce instead of pie filling? I'm more likely to have apple sauce on hand.

FWIW Clare:

I do something very similar to this recipe with pork loin in the crock pot, but use half apple sauce and half cranberry sauce (not jelly) and the whole crew loves it.

I have your Southwestern Chicken Nacho recipe in my crockpot today. It looked so good going into the crockpot, I can't wait to get home to try it! I'm definitely going to try the pork tenderloin recipe too. Your recipes sound yummy and they are very easy (which is a blessing!). Thanks for sharing.

I'm gonna give this a go this weekend. I normally eat the pie filling cold and straight from the can, but I'm open to new ideas.
