Willy & Babbish is Hung Up on New Baltimore

The women's boutique opened this month on Washington Street in the city's downtown.

Female shoppers who prefer boutiques over big department stores have a new reason to come to downtown New Baltimore. Willy & Babbish Boutique, 51034 Washington Street, opened recently in the historic downtown, catering to women seeking accessories, clothes and home products. Fittingly for the shop near Anchor Bay, nautical-inspired merchandise is also on the rack, according to store owners and sisters Carrie and Jill Leger. The owners selected New Baltimore because they wanted shoppers to feel "like they were on a weekend getaway, exploring a whimsical little shop in some quaint up north town, without having to leave their backyard," Carrie Leger said. Reality television series “Big Bob's World” follows Victory Motors’ manager Bob Ladendorf inside and outside Michigan’s largest volume used car dealer.

A Chesterfield used car manager, made famous for his wacky TV commercials for Victory Motors, is beginning a new adventure in reality TV.   Larger-than-life “Big Bob” Ladendorf of Grosse Pointe Shores stars in “Big Bob’s World: Reality Gone Good," which wraps this weekend at Victory Motors, located at 517 N. Main St. in Royal Oak. ATHENA Award Given to Martha T. Berry Administrator

Jennifer Morgan, Director/Administrator of the Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility received the 2013 ATHENA Award Friday at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township.

The Director/Administrator of the Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility received the 2013 ATHENA Award Friday from the Macomb Foundation at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township.  Jennifer Morgan took over as Director/Administrator of Martha T. Berry in 2010 and "began to turn things around, implementing changes in programs, policies and personnel as necessary while always maintaining “best quality of care” for all residents. Today, Martha T. Berry operates within approved budgets and Macomb County contributes zero dollars to its budget," according to a release. Before she took over, the 217-bed skilled nursing facility in Mount Clemens struggled financially and required a "significant county contribution" to meet operational demands.  …
