Lakeside Mall and Reach Out & Read Michigan is hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic and Book Drive on Monday, June 18, at 11 a.m.

Children are invited to bring in their favorite teddy bear for a "check-up." A local pediatric team will read a story and provide "check-ups" for the children's special, stuffed friends.

Stethoscopes and band-aids will assure teddy bear owners that their bears are in good health. Parents are encouraged to donate gently used or new books, for children birth to 5 years old at the event. The books will be given to Reach Out & Read Michigan and shared at local pediatric well-visits.

Parents can sign up for The Club at Lakeside Mall to receive a free e-newsletter with event and sales details. Lakeside's Monday Fun Day program provides events for young children every third Monday of the month.
