2012 Miss Chesterfield to be Crowned Friday

The 'Miss Chesterfield' Pageant will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Anchor Bay Middle School South.

Gowns, tiaras and a whole lot of glitter will grace the auditorium stage of on Friday evening as eight young ladies compete for the title of Miss Chesterfield.

The annual event recognizes girls, ages 16-21, who are setting a positive example in the Chesterfield Township community.

In order to qualify for the pageant, each girl was required to write a creative, 200-word essay on a topic of her choice, as well as attend a pre-interview with the judges. During the pageant Friday, the girls will model attire in the categories of sports, formal and everyday wear. They will also be asked one question by the judges.

The overall winner will be crowned queen and receive $200, while two others will be named runners-up, each receiving $100.

Last year's queen, Jennifer Jean Gerlando, will present the 2012 Miss Chesterfield with her crown and sash.
