Halloween Gets a Head Start Downtown

Downtown New Baltimore will be overrun Friday with little ghosts and goblins as part of the community's Halloween celebration.

It's party time in downtown New Baltimore this evening, as the Parks & Recreation Department throws its annual Halloween bash for the youngsters. Here are the details:

Where:
When: 6-8:30 p.m. tonight
Why Go: This yearly shindig is already sold out, with 70 children and their parents set to party. It'll be festive, however, not only for the party-goers, but also anyone headed downtown this evening, because new to the festivities is a downtown business walk, with kids and their parents starting at the Recreation Center and going trick-or-treating at area businesses. It should look pretty festive, and folks are invited to check it out.

After trick-or-treating, the party will return to the Recreation Center for more fun, including a Roland James Magic show, Papa's Hot Dogs providing the food and refreshments, games to play, and cupcakes to decorate.

A pumpkin patch also has been set up at the center. There, children will be able to choose a pumpkin to decorate and take home.
