In Photo: Military Jet Roars Above Chesterfield

One of several military jets took to the skies above the community, near Selfridge Air National Guard Base on Wednesday.

Even before the takes flight this weekend, military jets thundered repeatedly Wednesday above Chesterfield Township.

Stepping outside, residents and visitors alike could view several aircraft flying above the community. In the late morning, Patch photographed a picture of an aircraft identified by Executive Director and retired Michigan Air National Guard Lt. Col. Lou Nigro as a KC-135 "Stratotanker" aerial refueling aircraft.

"They fly out of Selfridge with the air-refueling element of the 127th Wing, Michigan ANG," Nigro, a township resident, said Wednesday.
