Job Hunt: Don't Look for Work Without Doing This...

Chesterfield Township Library offers career-seeking advice.

Whether you are just out of school or returning to the job market, searching for and finding a job requires planning and work. 

New Baltimore-Chesterfield Patch periodically will feature career tips for people in the community looking for work.

This week, advice for people looking for work: Do not start a job hunt without turning to the public library for help.

The Chesterfield Township Library has many resources that can assist people with their job hunt, including books and databases, as well as links to numerous websites with information on how to write cover letters, resumes, and prepare for job interviews.  

A quick visit to the library, or to the library’s website (www.chelibrary.org, then click the link “Help in Hard Times”), will make the top job search websites available to job searchers.

The library also regularly offers computer classes to help people develop skills needed in the modern workforce. Check the library’s newsletter or website for dates and times of classes such as “Beginning Computer Skills,” “Internet Skills 101,” “Introduction to Quickbooks,” and introductory classes for Microsoft Word and Excel.
