New Baltimore Springs Forward With Events

New Baltimore City Council approved several upcoming events at the Monday night meeting.

For the first time this year, the sun was still out when the New Baltimore City Council meeting started Monday evening—and that's not the only sign of spring.

With several members of council clad in green, the officials approved upcoming events in the city:

  • First, the annual Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year dinners were approved for May 26 at . The event is sponsored by the Citizens Advisory Committee. 
  • Pastor Jeff Bean form was in attendance as council approved the Community Church Good Friday Easter Drama on April 22. The event will be from 10-11 a.m. and will run down Main Street, from Maria St. to Walter and Mark Burke Park, where some of the festivities will be held.
  • Looking even further into the future, the council was more than happy to approve this summer's upcoming Farmer's Market. The market will operate at the on June 5 and from July 17 to Oct 23.

All events are pending approval from the Downtown Development Authority.

Lastly, before all the snow melts, the council approved the amendment of ordinances that regulated winter parking restrictions, declaring snow emergencies, parking prohibitions, impounding vehicles and parking conduct. The language was updated to make sure it is clear that people are not permitted to park on certain streets during snow emergencies so the plows can get through.
