Winterfest Schedule for Friday

New Baltimore Lions present their perennially popular Winterfest.

It's the end of January, so that means one thing for New Baltimore: Winterfest is back.

The New Baltimore Lions present their 19th Winterfest, taking over downtown Jan. 27-29. Dubbed "Freezin' for a Reason," the festival is full of fun, albeit sometimes frosty, happenings, all benefiting Lions-backed charities, including the New Baltimore Goodfellows and the food pantries at and North Shore Church. The Lions also buy eyeglasses for local children and adults in need.

The festival kicks off Friday evening. Events include:

  • 6 p.m.: The tent opens. Admission is $5.
  • 7-9 p.m.: Sip some wines from Washington Street Wine House, enjoy light appetizers from (formerly ), or buy beverages from the Lions Club. Just look for the big tent on Washington, between Main and Front streets.
  • 7-8 p.m.: The Blair Cremeens Anchor Bay Glee Club "Stars" will perform.
  • 8:30 p.m.-close: The 10-piece Sound Alternative Band will play.
