Ballet, Rodeo and Mom Celebration

Plan fun events with the family this week.

Where/When: ; Thursday, May 5, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Why Go: Sign the kids, grades K-5, up for a Fun Time session at the Chesterfield Township Library, where they'll make a gift for Mother's Day.
Pricing: Free, but registration is required.


Where/When: Macomb Center for the Performing Arts; 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., May 6; and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 7.
Why Go: See the Macomb Ballet Company bring the classic fairy tale "Snow White" to life on the stage.
Pricing: $15 adults; $12 seniors/students.

Where/When: ; Saturday, May 7, 10:30 a.m.-noon.
Why Go: Hear local Historian Bob Mack give a presentation on Gar Wood Boats. These classic wooden boats were built from 1922 to 1947. All ages welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Downtown Mount Clemens (at Macomb Place and Main); Saturday, May 7, 1-3 p.m.
Why Go: The Mount Clemens Kiwanis Club is holding a Bike Rodeo, where everyone can enjoy bike safety classes, safety checks, tune-up demos, finger printing and child ID, fire safety, a decoration station, bike parade, goodie bags, a visit from Rosco the Clown, giveaways and more.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Wolcott Mill Historic Center; Saturday, May 7, 2-4 p.m.
Why Go: Astronomy Day is celebrated worldwide to promote awareness of the skies. Those who attend will make crafts, take a solar system walk and view the sun with a solar telescope.

Why Go: Treat your mother on her big day with a grand buffet at Zuccaro's, featuring breakfast entrees, chef-carved steamship round of beef and baked ham, a variety of dinner entrees, salad bar, kids buffet, plus pastry and candy table. Breakfast buffet begins at 10:30 a.m.; dinner buffet begins at 12:30 p.m.
