Cruise and Clown Around at Area Events

Where/When: , 17420 Hall Road, Clinton Township; 1-5 p.m. Memorial Day; 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 4-8 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
Why Go: The Mall at Partridge Creek is getting its Summer Sounds underway with live music. Enjoying shopping, dining or simply exploring as live local musicians as varied as Cancel Monday, Beth Stalker and Jim Rawlings, The Incredibles, Big Will & The 360º Band, and Rick & Dayna Lieder perform.

Where/When: Gibraltar Trade Center, 237 N River Road, Mount Clemens; daily through June 12, except May 31 and June 6-7.
Why Go: Gibraltar Trade Center is holding its annual Macomb Fair & Expo. Ride the roller coaster, Tilt-A-Whirl and Ferris wheel (and more), chow on fair food, play games of chance,watch  the Rhinestone Roper Show with trick roping and knife throwing, and the cheer on the chimps racing in the Banana Derby. Plus Gibraltar's public markets are open Friday-Sunday.

MOUNT CLEMENS IS HAPPENING
Where/When: Downtown Mount Clemens; starting 5 p.m. June 3 and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. June 4.

  • If you're a car buff stop at the , part of the Bud Light Car Cruise Nights, and enjoy a drive-in movie at dusk Friday night, the "Cacklefest" collection of nostalgic race cars and   dragsters meeting 3 p.m. Saturday, classic cars, the Flamethrower Challenge and more fun galore.
  • If you need a break from the cars, enjoy the June 2-5, with rides, beer tent, and fireworks at dusk on June 3.
  • The annual Mount Clemens will be held June 3-5, featuring the works of dozens of artists, from jewelry to glass-blowing to woodwork and beyond. Fine art fun is also planned for children, with the Lakeside Palette Club and the Anton Art Center overseeing the Kids Zone by instructing kids in collage, watercolor, drawing and more, open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. June 4 and noon-6 p.m. June 5. The Puppet-Mobile will also be on-site Saturday and Sunday afternoons, from 1-3 p.m. in the Children's Area.
  • Summer Fun Saturday action, with Rosco the Clown doing magic for the youngsters at 11 a.m. June 4 at the Fountain Stage on Macomb Place.

Where/When: VerKuilen Building, 21885 Dunham Road, Clinton Township; 9 a.m.-noon June 4.
Why Go: The   MSUE Master Gardeners are holding their annual spring plant exchange. Drop by the parking lot of the VerKuilen Building and be ready to trade   plants with other gardeners. Be sure to label any plants you bring  with  names and growing instructions. Master Gardener and Master  Composter volunteers will also be on hand to answer questions.
Pricing: Free.
