Author Picnic

This small town village brings an era of yester year to this down home event of story telling and refreshments. Seating will be available, or feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair or blanket to lay on in the shade while you are entertained by the author's reading from their own books. New Haven 8th grade students have published a book called, Shadows In My Backpack. Their book has been showcased on channel 7 news and the The Voice Newspaper. Copies of it have been selling as fast as the books arrive. The stories are powerful, truthful and and from the heart of these children. Many of the Hero Writers will be present signing books and reading their stories. You won't want to miss this event. They will be joined by published author, Dr. Wunderlich, New Haven Superintendent, who has written a book called, The History of Vernors and who will be sharing his many stories and photos of this landmark Michigan company. In addition, Librarian and Romance Novelist, Mrs. Karen Owens will read excerpts from her many published books. This will be fun for the whole family. Bring the kids and grand parents. It will be a great way to kick off the summer season. See you there!
