Historical Reenactors Camp at Algonac State Park

History comes alive this weekend as the Algonac Historical Encampment settles at Algonac State Park for two days. The event, presented by Living History Head Quarters, www.livinghistoryhq.com, offers a glimpse into life during the 18th century among European settlers and Native Americans. Organizers will be clad in period costumes and demonstrating crafts, skills, chores, games, music and more of the time.   For an old-fashioned touch, antique tractors will pull hay wagons as means of transporting the public to the camp.

Cost is $5 per person, $2 for 12 and under, and those with a park pass will receive free admission. Reenactment hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 1 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 2.

The Algonac Boy Scouts will be selling refreshments and foods.
