History Fair: Civil War Days in New Baltimore

The New Baltimore Historical Society is holding its 21st Annual History Fair, taking visitors back to the Civil War days.

Event features the 15th Michigan, 22nd Michigan, 8th Arkansas and 14th South Carolina re-enactors, who will be doing drills, performing battle skirmishes, and firing cannon demonstrations at Walter and Mary Burke Park at 1 p.m. both days.

Other highlights include tours of the open both days. The Big Stone School, which will offer tours from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, is located at Washington and Will Lee.

Civil War walking tours are also planned, as are trolley rides with the Old Time Carriage Company.

The Veterans Wall will make a return as well.

See Civil War items and artifacts on display, beard-growing and historical costume contests, Anchor Bay artists' displays, as well as antique and craft sales. Zucchini races, live entertainment and plenty of children's activities are planned to amuse the youngsters.

There will also be a bake sale to help you satisfy your sweet tooth.

Event is free, and refreshments will be available.

All proceeds benefit Grand Pacific House Museum.
