Grab & Go Kids Planner: Find Princesses, Foxes and Eggs

Think theater, scrambled fun and pet love this week when you plan your family activities.


Where/When: Macomb Center for the Performing Arts, 10 a.m. April 13-14 and 7 p.m. April 13.
Why Go: See E.B. White's children's classic brought to life onstage. The whole family will enjoy watching the talented students of All The World's A Stage bring Wilbur, Templeton, Charlotte and company to life.
Pricing: 10 a.m. shows, $6, 7 p.m. show $10 in advance, $12 at the door.


Where/When: Chesterfield Township Library, Thursday, April 14, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Why Go: Pets are the theme of today's Fun Time session at the library. Kids are invited to bring a picture of their pet or of an animal they'd love to have for a pet. They'll spend time making crafts, playing games and sharing stories about how pets bring joy to our lives.
Pricing: Free, but please preregister.


Where/When:, Thursday, April 14, 6-7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Here's a fun way to spend the day with a young daughter or granddaughter: Bring them to the Mommy and Me Princess Tea Party, where little girls can dress up as a princess, followed by a traditional tea menu on fine china. Plus there will be singing and entertainment and girls are invited to bring their favorite doll along.
Pricing: $35 per resident, $40 nonresident. $15 per mom or grandma. Fee includes dress-up, taxes and gratuities. Girls should wear a white tank top and shorts under their clothing. Dress shoes preferred.

Where/When: John Armstrong Performing Arts Center, 24600 Frederick Pankow Blvd, Clinton Township, 7 p.m. April 15-16 and 2 p.m. April 16.
Why Go: See L'Anse Creuse High School's drama students are bringing Roald Dahl's childhood classic, Fantastic Mr. Fox to life onstage. 
Pricing: $5.


Where/When: Pollard Park, Saturday, April 16, 11 a.m.
Why Go: Parents and grandparents, bring your kids to Pollard Park for the Easter Egg Scramble. Take an Easter basket and your camera. Kids will take home a goodie bag along with plenty of fun memories. Event is open to children ages 10 and under.
Pricing: A canned-food donation to local food pantry will be collected at the park entrance.

Where/When: Ray Wiegand's Nursery, April 16-17, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Why Go: The kids will love this fun afternoon which includes an Easter Egg hunt, bunny and chick petting farm, photos with the Easter Bunny, face-painting, caterpillar maze, clown and refreshments, all to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Pricing: $7 per child for the hunt; for other events, it varies from free to $7.


Where/When: Wolcott Farm Center, Sunday, April 17, noon-3 p.m.
Why Go: Wolcott Farm Center is holding a Farm Egg Scramble. Families are invited to visit the farm animals and get pictures taken with the Easter Bunny, meet Rosco the Clown and stop by Bunnyville and meet the rabbits. Kids will make a craft to take home and enter a coloring contest.
Pricing: $5 per child.
