In Photos: Chesterfield Historical Society Heritage Day

History came to life Saturday at Chesterfield Historical Village.

The Chesterfield Historical Society held its annual Heritage Day Saturday at Chesterfield Historical Village.

The event featured classic cars, candle-making, crafts, historical reenactors clad in colonial clothes, food, horse rides, a donkey courtesy of Day Dreams Farm, and more.

Roy Rivard, 65, vice president of the said it was great to see families visiting the grounds.

"This gives the children a chance to see how it was done long ago," Rivard said.

He noted that attractions, such as the two-man saw and water pump, are fun for children today to use but were considered chores in the past.

The historical society is also done with the to the main circular walkway within the historical village.

The Chesterfield Historical Society is still selling brick pavers to go toward purchasing a barn for the historical village. Anyone interested in buying a brick may contact Eileen Rivard or her husband, Roy, who is the vice president of the Chesterfield Historical Society, at 586-749-3713.
