Despite thunderstorms, the crowd still came out Wednesday to the annual Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival in New Baltimore.

People braved the intermittent downpour to enjoy the first of the five-day festival held right in downtown New Baltimore.
Kyle Trepanier, 16, of New Baltimore was one of the few people out and about on the midway around 5:30 p.m.

"This is really fun," said Trepanier. "It got rained out but it was still fun. This is the first one I've ever been to."
The skies cleared up briefly and more people came out to play games, sample the carnival food and try the rides that were not closed due to the rain.
Leslie Tomlin, 39 of New Baltimore, brought out her daughters Berkley, 4, and Bailey, 7, to the fair and were having a great time out.
"Besides the rain, it's been good," Tomlin said.
Bay-Rama officials said the festival will go on, rain or shine.
