Here’s a look at upcoming programs and events taking place at Chesterfield Township and MacDonald Public libraries.

MacDonald Public Library

Find out what's happening in New Baltimore-Chesterfieldwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • Holiday Crafts for Kids: Set for 2 p.m. today. Grades Kindergarten-6 can create fun holiday crafts at the library.
  • Winter Crafternoon: Set for 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2. Grades Kindergarten-2 can create a variety of winter crafts. Registration is required.
  • Lego Club: Set for 5 p.m. Jan. 3. Grades Kindergarten-6 can join this program. The library will provide legos for participants to use.
  • MPL VolunTEEN: Set for 4:30 p.m. Jan. 7. Teens in the Anchor Bay School District who need community service can check out volunteer opportunities available nearby. Registration is not required.
  • Friends of MacDonald Public Library Meeting: Set for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7. Adults looking to volunteer at the library can attend this quarterly meeting. Volunteers will be planning upcoming programs and events at the library.
  • Marshmallow Madness: Set for 4:30 p.m. Jan. 9. Grades 3-6 can come to the library to have fun playing and building with marshmallows. Registration is required.

Chesterfield Township Library

  • Little Bit of History: Set for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3. Alan Naldrett will discuss the New Baltimore history book he is working on with Bob Mack and Richard Gonyeau. He will illustrate the presentation with rare and interesting photos of early New Baltimore. There are 40 available spots.
  • Mother Goose on the Loose – Toddlers: Set for 10:15 a.m. Jan. 7, 14 and 28. Children ages 2 and 3 can enjoy stories, songs and games. There are 20 available spots.
  • Microwave Cooking: Set for 6 p.m. Jan. 8. This event teaches teens how to cook quick and easy foods without the hassle of pots and pans. There are 50 available spots.
  • Fiction Book Discussion Group: Set for 6:45 p.m. Jan. 9. This book discussion group meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The book selection for January is “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest” by Stieg Larsson. Registration is not required.
  • Funtime Winter Craft: Set for 4:30 p.m. Jan. 10. Grades 1-5 can participate. There are 15 available spots.
  • Preschool Parade: Set for 10:15 a.m. Jan. 10, 17 and 24. Children ages 3-5 can enjoy stories, action rhymes and crafts. There are 19 available spots.
