Whiz Kid: Chesterfield Musician is Dramatic

Noah Mattocks was honored for his saxophone skills and is set to play "Beast" in school production.

Noah Mattocks of Chesterfield Township

  • Accomplishment: Noah rocked a challenging alto saxophone solo at the annual MSBOA District XVI Solo and Ensemble Festival and received a first division honor.
  • Key to Awesomeness: The L’Anse Creuse North freshman wasted no time becoming an active and integral part of the school’s music program. He’s already shining as a freshman.
“Noah is a great student and person,” L’Anse Creuse North High School director of bands Jeremy Duby said.  “He is a strong leader who always sets a prime example in and out of class. He is an all-around great musician and artist. Noah is a true asset to the music and drama department at High School North. He is very well respected and admired by his peers.”
Mattocks is also performing as the Beast in L’Anse Creuse North’s production of Beauty and the Beast on March 11-12.
He will move on to compete at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival at the end of March.
