Job Hunting Advice: Find Your Inspiration

The Chesterfield Township Library has many resources for people looking for inspiration in their career search.

Keeping up to date with the local, state, and national labor market is important for people seeking employment, but it is also important for job seekers to keep their spirits high while striving to make a future for themselves.

One way to maintain your enthusiasm while working toward your career goals is to discover how successful people overcame setbacks and obstacles to achieve personal and professional success.  


The has many resources—reference books, databases, information on helpful websites—to assist people with job hunting, but do not overlook the inspiration to be gained from reading biographies and memoirs of famous people.  

Learning about the struggles and triumphs of individuals on the road to success in their chosen professions can provide a blueprint to follow, or at least shine a light on what pitfalls to avoid in our quest for a better life.

So from time to time take a deserved break from the job search and stop by the library to browse the biography section. There are a lot of great books by and about men and women from the worlds of business, politics, entertainment, sports, and many other walks of life. Then sit and relax and immerse yourself in the pleasure of discovering a life.
