Santa to Arrive by Helicopter in New Baltimore

Lumber Jack at 35369 23 Mile will welcome Santa Claus Nov. 23.

From sleighs to fire trucks, Santa fancies all sorts of transportation in Chesterfield Township and New Baltimore.

But helicopter is his first choice Nov. 23, as he plans to land at Lumber Jack on 23 Mile in New Baltimore to a crowd of more than 100 kids and adults.

The popular free event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds of the lumber and hardware retailer. After children catch a glimpse of St. Nick's landing, they will be able to sit and talk to him, get their faces painting and enjoy cookies and cider. Families are advised to dress warmly, said Denise Smith, manager of the New Baltimore Lumber Jack store.

Clothing, toys and food donations are to benefit St. Clair County's Kids in Distress and New Baltimore Lions. Picture donations will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Store discounts and early bird specials will be offered that day.
