A Toast to St. Patrick's Day Fun in Chesterfield, New Baltimore

Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day, and most places have some kind of special going on, whether it's green beer, bagpipers or corned beef with all the fixings.

Here are some happenings around town, and if we've missed something or you think a business deserves a shout-out for its March 17 madness, feel free to give them their due in the comments section below.

Bigg's Bar & Grill, 28265 Gratiot, has a big day planned. They'll open their doors at 7 a.m. Patrons can grab a breakfast of corned beef hash, eggs and toast for 99 cents, enjoy drink specials all day and evening long, and starting at noon they can partake in Irish fare such as Reubens and Irish stew. At 5 p.m. the deejay will be be in-house playing favorite music, and those with a song in their hearts can belt one out on the karaoke machine. Call 586-949-5333 for more information.

The Fillin' Station Bar & Grill, 49434 Gratiot, will be open all day, starting at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy Irish and regional fare such as corned beef, fish and chips, drink and shot specials, karaoke starting at 9:30 p.m., and fun all day and evening long. Call 586-949-0030 if you want more information.

Guiliano's Ristorante, 33151 23 Mile Road, is Irish for the day with a dinner show spectacular featuring tributes to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, followed by Blues Brothers jams. The show begins at 7 p.m. and is free with dinner. Reservations are recommended. Call 586-725-3914 to get on board.

With a name like the Green Street Tavern, 37700 Green St., you bet they have something planned. In fact, they're starting early: From 7-8 p.m. Friday they'll have bagpipers. They'll return for more bagpipe tunes on the 17th from 4-5 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. A deejay will spin favorite songs, Irish eats will be on the menu, and green beer will be there for the drinking. Hamlin Pub, 50659 Gratiot, is celebrating St. Patrick's Day by opening at 7 a.m. and staying open until 2 a.m. Enjoy a free breakfast from 7-10 a.m., and Irish food specials, green beer, no cover, drinks galore -- including $5 Jameson Irish Car Bombs. Rosie O'Grady's, 30400 23 Mile Road, will open at 7 a.m., offering a $3 breakfast bar until 10 a.m., with drink specials all morning, day and night long. They'll also have the Random Play Band performing hits from the 1970s, '80s and '90s, classic rock, oldies and more from 3-6 p.m., and, of course, green beer and other Irish fare are there for the ordering. Sugarbush Tavern, 27900 21 Mile Road, is celebrating all things Irish with whiskey, green beer, corned beef and cabbage, corned beef sliders, shepherd's pie. They open at 11 a.m., and the Adam McAllen band takes to the stage at 8:30 p.m. Call 586-949-5260 for details.

The Town Pump, 51110 Bedford, will have green beer, corned beef, and all kinds of goodies to satisfy your inner Irishman (or woman). Call 586-725-5505 for more information.

The Wintergarden Tavern, 46777 Gratiot, isn't an Irish pub, but it's going to be Irish for the day with a live band playing Celtic music, shot and drink specials, giveaways, Irish fare like corned beef and cabbage and shepherd's pie, plus bagpipers, and no cover. Call 586-948-8754 to learn more.
