Walmart Eyes Gas Station in Chesterfield Township

The Supercenter store is located off Hall Road in the township.

Walmart is interested in building a gas station in Chesterfield Township, according to the township planning department.

The station is expected to go on the same property that hosts the supercenter store on Marketplace Boulevard in the Hall Road and Gratiot area. A building date has not been set in these preliminary stages, the department said.

The chain would offer another option for local motorists who have many choices for filling up in Chesterfield Township. The cheapest rates Tuesday in the area were $3.63 at Meijer on 26 Mile near Frost and $3.64 at Speedway on 21 Mile near Brandenburg Drive, according to Gasbuddy.com.

Gosh and here I thought the gas station owners only made their money off what you bought in the station. Now Walmart gets into the oil business. You can bet they aren't doing that because all they will make their money on is the product inside.
