World's Finest Frozen Custard Opens This Week

The popular Chesterfield Township dessert destination may open as soon as Thursday.

Frozen custard fanatics can mark their calendars because a popular Chesterfield Township sweet stand is opening this week.

The seasonal on 23 Mile Road is planning to open Friday, but could even welcome customers as early as Thursday.

Owner Gary Sodini, AKA Big Gary, said Tuesday that he's just waiting for deliveries and machines to arrive in the next few days.

Snowbird Sodini of Chesterfield Township recently returned from four months in sunny Florida and has been hounded by locals on when his dessert destination is reopening.

"Every time we've gone to a restaurant since we've been home, they're like 'when are you opening?'" he said with a laugh.

He credits the popularity of his business to good products, service and prices. He also regularly chats with customers on benches near the playground and miniature golf area.

World's Finest always carries chocolate and vanilla frozen custard as well as specialty frozen custard flavors, among many other desserts, shakes and more. For opening week, pistachio nut and wild cherry custard will be featured in honor of St. Patrick's Day, Sodini said.

The longtime township business is seeking several front-window employees to immediately start training. For more information, visit the business for an application.

Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. World's Finest closes at the end of October.
