Can You Answer This Riddle?

When should dogs be walked only by children? NEVER!

Riddle: Why is it not a good idea for dogs to be walked just by children alone?

Answer: Because both child and dog can get into a dangerous situation before you can blink.

A father, his little daughter and their 60-pound, muscular dog walked into a pet store one afternoon. All three go toward the back of the store to look for an item.  Two ladies are at the front of the same store, one sitting on a chair and the other standing nearby.

Before anyone realized it, the 60-pound dog came running up to the lady seated in the chair with the small child in tow. The seated woman pet the dog on the head and the dog took off again, dragging the little girl away before anyone could do anything. Shortly after this took place, the father came up to the front of the store, took the leash from his daughter and the dog went to the father's side.  Before the father could blink, the dog spotted another smaller dog through a glass door, hit the glass with all he had and wanted that other dog gone!

What if that little girl and her dog came in contact with that little dog without the glass between them?  SPOILER ALERT: She would have been pulled into the fight because she was connected to the leash.

Please don't let children walk a dog by themselves. This is a very dangerous situation. If you want your child to learn to walk a dog, clip on a light leash to the dog's collar along with the leash that will be held by an adult. You can have two or three children all walking the same dog but with supervision and safety for all.

Use your head and your leash.
